I finally paid off my bill for $3,587 for simple stitches on my finger. This place is the most insanely overpriced medical care I have ever received in my entire life. Many people have mentioned that this is an actual ER so they have a justification for charging high prices. I'd point those people to the Exeter hospital next time they want to use an ER. Coincidentally I had almost the same exact procedure at the Exeter hospital (3 stitches for a small cut) and I was charged NOTHING. Yes I had insurance both times. I do not understand why the company that manages this location (which is part of portsmouth hospital) decides to charge such insanely high fees. Other than the fact that they just want to railroad you for as much as possible. If your life is on the line but you can make it to Exeter hospital, go there. If you need to go to a clinic, GO ANYWHERE else. If I could give this negative stars I would. Sadly not because of the service, because the service was just fine. ONLY because of the diabolical prices. Also before they performed the service I asked how much it would be, they danced around giving me an answer. Not even a basic estimate. Nothing. I stupidly thought it couldn't possibly be much more than the service I got at Exeter hospital. Their basic fee just for being in a room is thousands of dollars. This doesn't include any additional fees. Just SITTING IN THE ROOM. Total insanity.

I have been there for two visits. First was a workers comp claim. The admin staff messed up the paperwork and now I am getting the bills instead of the workers comp insurance carrier. I called and the billing department and they were not very helpful.Also a $48 extra fee if you go between the hours of 10pm and 8 am, On the second visit i had an ear problem. They flushed it out to the tune of $2600.00. I called for an itemized bill and they sent the original bill without anything itemized. I will never go back. It is a scam

Everything was awesome from time in to time out. Was there 4 different times after a surgery I had. But BEWARE! My insurance company said they were in network. Well I received almost $4000.00 in bills. Turns out facility is in network but the doctors that are there are not. Other than the doctors costing me big dollars it was a pleasant visit each time. Shame on the hospital for useing out of their network of doctors. I’m sure there are Patients like myself that gotten stiffed. Insurance company didn’t know this either at the time I called to verify if in network

The costs are outrageous, as others have said. I will never go here again. Their billing department is a problem. One time they billed my insurance with the wrong codes for a routine yearly blood test (cholesterol etc) and charged me over $850, and would not work with me to correct the wrong codes sent to my insurance. And they charged us over $4,000 for a 2 hour stay when my child had pneumonia. The doctor knew within 5 minutes what the issue was, but ordered so many tests. I don't mind paying my fair share, but I could not keep up with all the various bills that came in. Look up the NPR story - be warned!
