We recently visited River Glen assisted living facility. This facility exceeds expectations. The atmosphere was homey and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. It is obvious that they care deeply for the residents. Claudine went above and beyond to answer our questions and concerns and to put everyone at ease. The residents we met were friendly and seemed to be enjoying themselves.

My husband and I met with Claudine and Jim and they were both welcoming and professional. They answered all of our questions about the development, thoroughly. We look forward to being part of the community!

River Glen has been a caring home for my mother-in-law and my mom. The caregivers there are attuned to the individual needs of the residents and strive to bring them happiness.

January 2022 update: The seniors living at River Glen went through several meetings and attempts to negotiate a more reasonable price hike than a 100% increase in monthly fees. All attempts to negotiate failed because as of 1/2022 the assessments increased from $650/mo to $1300/mo. Terrible to treat seniors (many of whom are on a budget with fixed expenses) this way! Residents still pay their property taxes too and have less services currently available to them than they had in previous years. I know someone living in a condo on Lakeshore Drive in Chicago with a doorman, gym, and numerous services who pays LESS per month than our seniors living in a townhome on Route 25 in St. Charles! So wrong! This is not a slam on the people working every day with the seniors in the assisted living area, no issue there. This is pointed directly at the executives that aren't even on site that are making these fiscal (robbing) decisions. Fall 2021: Townhome residents at River Glen (who are all seniors) were just given two months notice that their monthly assessments are increasing 100% Residents pay 650/mo in assessments for snow, yard, maintenance etc. Those fees are doubling to 1300/mo! Again, 100% increase, on seniors, 2 months warning. Who goes from 0-100%?! That isn't right! They also pay real estate taxes in addition to cost of townhome. No expense sheets or accounting of expenses and breakdown ever provided as is customary with HOA situations. That's awful treatment of seniors on a set income. An HOA/monthly assessment of 1300/mo for a townhome community in St Charles is insane! Staff and people in the assisted living are lovely but administrators who are making these decisions to price hike on the seniors? That is completely shameful!

At our community, residents live in a warm and friendly, family-like neighborhood with the safety of 24-hour staffing and the compassionate care of highly trained personnel who implement proven memory care programs that encourage and celebrate remaining abilities. It would be virtually impossible to duplicate this level of round-the-clock safety, sense of community and socialization and specific expertise in Alzheimer’s care by using an in-home care service.
