I like to take this moment and thank the Lake Villa Police Dept and all its officers for great and timely service these past 2.5 weeks. They provided outstanding service and protection and were visible during the day and evening hours. During an initial attempted and armed home invasion a few weeks ago I contacted 911. The officer on call quickly responded. During the actual event she provided immediate assistance, telling me how to defend myself and family. The actual experience lasted nearly 15 minutes, beginning with hard pounding hit on a reinforced window door pane. The Police immediately came and check the immediate area. Since then we then had some additional incidents and the Lake Villa Police immediately responed coming right away, and continued area surveillance up to this day. A few days later after the initial attempt, a home detection system was installed. At a national level unfortunately there is a trend by some political and judicial leadership to protect criminals and not citizens. This trend must stop NOW. In November all of us have the opportunity to correct this issue. Next time you see any Police Officer express your thanks for their service.

I’ve met Gomez (through a friend) several times and spent some time with him. Gomez is NOT a racist! I admit his comment was not politically correct, but he was being sarcastic. He also manned up and apologized for his actions. He may of been having a one star day, but he still wears the star. He’s out there every day risking his life for the community. He’s solved murders of peoples loved ones and continues to do his best to keep the community safe.
