Very friendly staff. Offers beds and 3 meals per day. Take out lunch sacks are available. They can help with housing, unemployment and social security as well as Medicare and medicaid. Appointment is preffered but walk ins welcome. Limited parking. On bus routes 4 and 10. Bus 18 is a 2 block walk.

Are there requirements for staying at the emergency shelter .do you have to have been a dekalb county resident for a year?I have only been in dekalb 3 months but I do have family that have been in the county for years

They don't require any kind of proof of residency, though if you have mail (worst case scenario have your family allow you to get mail sent to their home and then apply for something free like a church pamphlet or catalogue) They prefer you have an ID and SS card for intake but they'll work with you. The women's ward is harder to get into because of the higher rates of DV involvement.

Do you accept blanket donations?

Does this place try to get you transportation to there

Your question is unclear. If you are asking if Hope Haven provides client pick up-the answer is no. If you are asking if public transportation runs by Hope Haven the answer is yes- use Spot to find your local buses and select " City of Dekalb ".
