All in all it's a good place to let your dog run. The cost is good for non residents. My biggest complaint is the lack of shade or things for the dogs to do. Dogs need shade also they get hot. An open field is great but maybe some obstacles to play on.

The park is a nice small fenced area with a few toys. Getting into the park is an absolute nightmare. Every map software will take you to the nearest road to the park (Carman Ave.) Which only makes sense. Once arriving on Carman Ave. you will see the park close by. You are greeted by 2 signs. The first tells you that there is NO parking on this street. (7am - 7pm) The next sign informs you that the parking and entrance for the dog park is at the Metra train station. There is no additional information such as where the train station is located. Once you find the train station (5 minute drive). You will follow the signs through the lots to the park parking area. You will notice as you drive through the main lot and the 3 long term parking overnight lots that each space has it's own number, and you must pay to park in each space. In order to pay, you will find the space you want to use, and then note the number of that space. You will then (Walk) to the big stainless steel box at the train station platform area and insert your money in the correct slot. As the park is the most distant location from the platform (parking spaces in the 500's) you will drive to the very farthest point from the platform and park there (1/4 mile from the dog park). Then you will (walk or drive) the other direction 1/2 mile back to the train station so you can pay your parking fee. The train station parking is $2.00 but since you will be in the long term / overnight lot .. the fee is $20.00. You and your dog will now walk back the half mile to your car on the parking asphalt, then walk the next 1/4 mile to the park itself via a bike trail. It's very pretty. Now comes the next sign that you cannot see from any previous position : Dog park access sticker required. You must post the sticker on your car. The LCFP sticker that you have for your lake county dog parks Does not count and will not save you. The sign at the park entrance does not tell you how to obtain the sticker you need for entry. You now walk your dog back 1/4 mile to your car that you parked for $20 and collect your ticket for using the dog park without a sticker. You can look up the sticker information and drive to the Buffalo grove town hall to get your yearly sticker for an additional $20. If you return the same day and it's before the government offices close, And if your parking space is open, you can park in the same space you already paid for and save yourself from walking back to the train platform. Now you just walk back to the dog park with your new sticker in the window and enjoy the tiny little park. Mail in your $85 fine at your leisure. I have no idea why it is set up this way. At a minimum they need better and more complete signage at the Carman Ave road area. I cannot recommend this park.

A large, well-maintained, fenced in, off-leash dog area with friendly dogs and friendly people. A permit is required.

There is a neighbor husky dog coming here everyday. The dog is very aggressive and insulting other dogs but the owner of dog just watching it. He ruined the whole park. People needs to do something about the dog and owner.
