There are some wonderful people here, and this is a nice community. Evidential mediumship is not being practiced (at least not primarily) here, and proof of existence beyond physical death is not being given. This church is not really following the guidelines of the National Spiritualist Association of Churches. There should be evidential messages from spirit using validation of the identity of the spirit, and that isn't done here. The classes are also poorly organized, and the teaching methods are not up to date for modern mediumship. It's too bad, because this community has a lot of potential but the way it's being run actually shuts spirit out. Hopefully more integrity will be achieved here if the community is open. A person new to spiritualism and mediumship is likely to get the wrong idea about what they really are from going to this church. Many days the readings are just like going to a local psychic fair. That is not true spiritualist mediumship, and it can be seen elsewhere in much more sacred form.

I will ask around about this. Have friend at COS who will have contacts. "Beyond my paygrade" as the popular saying goes, but you can Google for paranormal investigations in your area. That I know. Or visit church on a Sunday and ask Rev Marrice. Meanwhile prayers, sending love to the situation and opening windows,etc can only help am thinking.
Has your friend tried smudging with sage and Palo Santo to keep them at bay? They can also place crystals on the four corners of the property for protection, or do protection visualizations. Your friend is gifted, so this may be something for him/her to get used to.
