Dec 2021, participated in the CCLBA’s holiday property discount and giveaway. CCLBA contacted my husband that he’d “won” one of five properties chosen in the event. They requested a deposit for processing paperwork. We sent the deposit and also visited the CCLBA located at city hall. Cclba contacts about a month later with progress and sends emailed addendums stating we have been awarded the property and to send $800, with $100 going to more processing fees for the deed and the remainder to total cost of property which was $4,155 and that the property (keys, deed etc) would be issued to us on Dec 2022. Months go by and no word of progress from CCLBA, so husband contacts them in Aug 2022 and they state that the owner of the property filed bankruptcy, property no longer awarded and they will refund the $800. Basically we won and were awarded the opportunity to loan the CCLBA $800 and paid interest to loan them the money too. It’s a scam.
