worst and most inhuman thing to ever exist. if you want a better future, don’t go here. the nurses will treat you like your not even a person…..i witnessed nurses tell suicidal/mentally disabled patients to shut the %#*^ up….Please choose something professional and not this place
Mr Silly
It may not be the place you want. But it’s the place you need.

This behavioral hospital is trash!!! They discharged my mom home and she was no better than what she was before she left. Still psychotic and angry!! How can you discharge a mentally ill patient without proper medical treatment. Nothing is done until the person with a mental health condition commits a horrendous crime and now everyone is concerned! What about us trying to get our loved ones help and cant. This is ridiculous. We need better mental healthcare!!

Jenni, I too had my daughter here. They cant tell you anything unless you give them the ID number. Its about confidentiality, its a law. But if you call them and tell them your name, relationship to the patient and your phone number. They can give that to your daughter, then she can call you and give you her patient ID number
The phones are available for patients to call loved ones anytime up till 9:30pm. If you call just have the patient ID number and they will patch you through.
Im not sure. However if your you are to far to visit.. it wont hurt to try. If they get it then it will definitely be well received
Don’t send them here. This place is hell, they don’t tell patients the rules when they get there. There’s a few nurses who actually care. All they want is money, don’t send your son here.
They did it by age when i was there
Parents exclusively, but with permission others can visit too.
We were told they bring in bedbugs.
Yes, your child along with everyone else will be treated with the most compassionate Care possible. I personally will treat kids as I treat my own, which is with love.
I was just released from there. They did't tell me what was going on and expected me to know the rules. Many of the staff wore their badges backwards so that you could not see their names. Pass the buck was played often in Unit 3. Had what I considered a violent person there; one of the nurses continuously egged him on. I did not feel safe and was not allowed to close my door. All papers regarding my treatment (did I get treatment) and care were presented prior to being admitted for signatures. I would absolutely not recommend this center if you have a choice.
No smoking I went here back in july or august I would try homeward bound they allow smoke breaks
I forgot but google the facility and they will tell you. Also visitation is nice because you and your child get to talk, play games, bring them books to read and just enjoy each other. And you also get to realize your family is not the only ones going thru this transformation. All kids of different ages, cultures, ethnicity, education, finances, anybody and everybody can go thru a tough time mentally.
I am not sure cause all I know about is the mental health care side, what they did for my son
Thank you for asking! We are an inpatient psychiatric hospital which treats many conditions, not just psychosis, and some of our units are locked for patient safety. Additionally, we have outpatient programing for both children and adults to help create healthier lives.
No money if through North Texas Behavioral Health Authority with documentation of need and inability to pay or on limited income or housing. They don't do tests or supply meds. They refer patients and offer some counseling and write prescriptions.
Nope
They won't if you are not a family member of a patient. I don't know what other policy they have regarding that. It's a psych hospital.
They offer financial assistance help they did with me
The address Is 800 Kirkwood dr, desoto, tx 75115 and I think they take either
Yes they will help with that.
You can only visit or call if your on the list
Metro Care...google for closet location
I'm not sure about Adults but Adolescents have visitation M,W,F, and Sun 7-8PM .
