I started coming to Create summer of 2020 after they re opened for in person service. I knew I needed a church community to be involved in and be connected in. At that time they were getting ready to have their backpack drive for back to school. I showed up and was blown away. The whole church was working together to serve the community the best they could. They not only gave people a backpack, school supplies, and food, but while they were waiting in line in their cars, there was a prayer and outreach team personally connecting with what seemed like 300 cars. They prayed for them right then and there, they shared the gospel, and looked to connect them to other resources if needed. After that I joined "CowVan" the outreach and evangelism small group. I believe that was reason God brough me to this church. I had never been comfortable sharing my faith or praying out loud for people before, but Daniel (now the outreach pastor/coordinator) was so encouraging. I learned by simply watching others, being pushed out of my comfort zone when needed. (Always in love). The heart of the Pastors is for God and his will and they seek to be led by the Holy Spirit in every decision. As the church has grown, they have done a great job of hiring more staff and delegating. No one pastor or leader can do it all. The staff pour into small group leaders, always looking to raise up new leaders and encourage us to pour into others. When we all overflow with Christ, no one is empty.

I see all these messages and I’m happy who have received this but this was not my experience. I met Pastor Ryan and Elle when they started C3 in Carrollton at covenant church. In the beginning it was great at that time my heart was absolutely on fire and I had the support of Pastor Ryan as I navigated my focus on creating a life that was completely focused on Christ. I had a hiccup and found myself in an emotionally abusive relationship and as I navigated out of that situation things were different. Ryan spoke to me but also ignored me at times. I often felt like a nuisance. A lot of the members of c3 that would follow him to his new church would purposely leave me out of things and outcast me I found out later on. To me I found it funny that my brothers and sisters at the bars treated me better then the Christian brothers and sisters at church. I found myself lost. As time moved on I still had trust for Ryan. In 2017 I reached out to Ryan for guidance because I was having a lot of issues that was leading to suicide. I private messaged him through Facebook I was ignored and I posted on his page which I got his family members to at least say they would be praying for me but again ignored and post was taken down. I am happy now. I’m Catholic again because I just was shown that to me it came across as a show and not genuine. Where I’m now it is more genuine and real. Theodore Roosevelt once wrote Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.I never felt like anyone cared for me. I realized I didn’t want to be like these people. I wanted to be like Jesus. I wanted love, acceptance and all the things that made Him Jesus. I’m married now to an amazing women that shows me love, that I’m valued and I’m part of the Knights of Columbus where I have some great friends that show me what it looks like to be a real Christian. Again I’m glad these others have had better situation then mine but for me, that’s not my story. Following Ryan or any of these others that ended up following him from covenant church would be a huge heart wound waiting to happen. Just my point of view.
