Fun atmosphere, accommodating staff, decent prices, clean. While traveling with a group of children, the Downtown Xenion Motel was able to offer a room that comfortably slept 6. We could have easily fit 8 people in our room. This was the perfect stop in Laramie, WY during our cross country road trip. Set in the heart of their historical district, there were many great shops and restaurants within walking distance. Awesome murals in the neighborhood. I'd stay again.

TL;DR - We were overcharged for the room, but our stay was worth it. The aftermath of the stay, however, made us change our thoughts on the Xenion from, "we should definitely stay here again" to "STAY AWAYYYYY!" We recommend any lodging within a 30-mile radius of Laramie except the Xenion. We stayed at Downtown Xenion Motel because of their advertised $49 rate but were charged $70 for the same room pictures in the ad. That being said, the room itself was worth the $70. It was much larger than we expected, had a comfortable king size bed, was well laid out, was clean and well-stocked, and everything worked. The fridge wasn't plugged in when we got there, but that was an easy enough fix. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful, even at 10 past midnight with sub-zero temperatures outside. We were tired and ready for bed, so we were only mildly annoyed by the flock of obnoxiously drunken women leaving the nearby drinking establishments. We woke early and, feeling well rested, were on our way before 9. Check-out was simple, and, as we drove away, we agreed that if we came back this way on another cross-country road trip, we'd definitely have to stay here again. Overall, our stay was a pleasant one. There did seem to be a bit of an issue with management, which (much) later became a major one. Before arriving, we had seen that the owner had left irrational and rude responses to negative reviews, to the point of seeming uncontrollably angry. We brushed those aside based on the high praise left in the positive reviews. During our stay, we had no issues with the management. Nine months later, however, the owner stalked me on my Facebook page and sent me a nasty, defamatory message accusing me of abusing drugs in his parking lot. He alleged that he saw me and my boyfriend doing drugs in a black Suburban. We were in a drug-free silver pick-up truck. He claimed that he "NEVER FORGETS A FACE" and that we had not even stayed in the motel and were trying to cause him trouble. Apparently, this was a result of my review of the hotel we had stayed in the previous evening, in which we also had a pleasant stay, but which I accidentally left as a review of the Xenion instead. The review was in no way negative, but he felt that my misattributed review nine months earlier was worth hunting me down and harassing me on social media. His messages were threatening, insulting, and bizarrely angry. If you read this review, Matthew Munoz, know this: my boyfriend is a very large but generally amiable man...unless somebody harasses his girlfriend. If you contact me again, I can GUARANTEE you will never forget HIS face.

Fantastic place. Ed made me feel right at home & made some extra accommodations to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Rooms were very comfortable & really warm, given the frigid weather out that night. He was professional, informative, everything worked beautifully. Hot shower, TV, I cannot say enough how pleasant my stay was. Price was fantastic, and rooms were very nice. I would highly recommend if you're passing through Wyoming on I-80 and you need a place to bunk for the night.

BEWARE!! **The owner banged on my door and kicked me out at 7AM because I left a negative review! Threatened to call the police if I did not get out in 15 minutes. I had to drive 6 hours back home on a fitful 5 hours of sleep because of this.** There is an extra charge of about $4 at check-in that was not on my reservation. They say it's because the credit card machine didn't belong to them and they can't change it. Blanket in the bed was more Swiss cheese than fabric, dirty mirror, AC-DC wasn't working right and found out the filter was caked with dirt and grime. Having to use my data to post this because the WiFi barely connects. One of the lamps didn't even have a bulb in it. Not very happy with this visit. I was here 10 months ago and was pleasantly surprised at how great it was. This time was a let down.
