Quite steep at the beginning with many switchbacks. Picnic table offshoot about 3/4 mile up. Trails flattens out for a short distance after that bit soon becomes narrow. Beautiful view of Johnson City up top (where there are also picnic tables). The parking area is quite small, though, so definitely try to arrive earlier in the day.

Gorgeous sunsets dazzle and delight hikers on Lone Oak Teail. Close to 30 switchbacks make this mountain trail an easier hike on the Dry Creek (west) side of Buffalo Mountain.

There is a small parking area nearby. This is a well-maintained and well-marked trail. It gives great views of Johnson City and also in the other direction at the top. It is a fairly difficult hike; about 1200ft in 1.9mi.

Great trail, 1200 foot climb in about a mile and a half is a little challenging in spots but the views are beautiful!
