Total lack of any urgency on the part of the clerks. Would be nice if there were some type of estimated wait time.

Literally one person working the counter while three others stand around on the phone. Feel free to waste the better part of a day here if you’re desperate.

Very poor and inefficient service. They've 2 people that can only do tag renewals or DNR, really??? what a waste of tax dollars paying these people for something that can be done online. 90% of the people go to get the driver license, get all your people to do driver license processing, instead of having people there wasting their time and just chatting around. And now they close @ 3 due to staff limitation !! what a joke ... you've people literally doing nothing.

Long waits, no sense of urgency. Go to Scott County DVS instead. On a Thursday afternoon I waited standing in line for over an hour and ended up being sent away because the Bill-Of-Sale on my new trailer purchased from a new trailer manufacturer in Minnesota was not signed. They said "Without a signature anyone could print this up to get out of paying sales tax". I had the invoice and the title in addition to the Bill-Of-Sale. The guy said he'd try to get me to the front of the line the next time I came in with the signed Bill-Of-Sale. Honestly, I think someone could fake the signatures too but I didn't argue that point. It was a bit insulting being indirectly accused of malfeasance. I went back on the next Wednesday afternoon. There were 16 people in line ahead of me, all standing since there are no chairs. One older man with a walker and a Veterans hat got a round of applause by those still standing in line when he was finished. After 53 minutes the line had moved up by 5 so there were still 11 people ahead of me. What was especially annoying was the lack of urgency by the staff. They happily greeted each person who came up to the counter and made small talk but they ignored those standing in line. Never once any apology for the long wait or promise to try to speed up the process. At this rate of progress I would be waiting another 110 minutes so I left. I went to Scott County DVS in Shakopee instead on Thursday at 10am. They took my name and phone number at check-in and directed me to a waiting room with chairs. In less than 2 minutes I got a text that it was my turn and a rep was calling for me. I gave her my paperwork and she proceeded. She needed to get help from a co-worker to find how to make the sales tax asl already paid in-state because the software had updated and the screen looked different. It took a few minutes. I asked about the signature on the Bill-Of-Sale and she said it's not needed since they can match my registration to the Dealer records from the Dealer number. Wow. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Never, ever, go the the Savage DVS.

It's a full DMV. All that you mentioned and more is available. Just a heads up, they can and do get very busy.
Do I need to make an appointment to do drivers license renewal?
