It was so fun to be on the lake, at sunset. Patio was lively and the band on the dock was excellent. Hitchville delivered, as they seemed to get everyone up to dance! We will be back! Oh, the lettuce wraps were excellent!

Did brunch here on a Saturday. It was wonderful. Their bloody mary’s come with an awesome fried pickle spear. The service and food was excellent. Definitely coming back again this summer.

Fall evenings in the Twin Cities can be spectacular! Yesterday, after putting in a full rewarding day, I longed for a walk at one of our metro lakes. Prior Lake, MN is close enough and a new destination for my 2021 walks. And there at the end of my walk was Charlie's, a lakeside Restaurant and Marina. Charlie's seems nearly hidden with being well nestled in its Prior Lake neighborhood. Its welcoming lighthouse type entry made it easy to spot. I called in my order, not sure where to pick it up. At the outside dining reception desk helpful staff directed me to the upper dining room. It has ample space with several tables of guests dining and seeming to watch TC. The charming area, is the 40-seat balcony that is perched over the lower out-side patio. Both were packed on a Monday evening with other restaurants near me take a break and are closed. Toasttab.com handled my order. For my first taste of Charlies on Prior I selected one of my dining favorites – Thia Lettuce Wraps and added the “shrimp” option. The peanut sauce that came with was nice and thick with rich Thia flavors. Also, the serving size is generous. I saved my remaining sauce as it is so good, I’ll add it to my lunch salad today. The serving staff that I interacted with was all young, very polite, and helpful even thought they were very busy. It was an unplanned and surprisingly delightful dinner on the go experience. There is an additional parking lot just across the small lakeside street that hosts the marina. This helps with overflow parking. The parking lot has five spaces dedicated for pickup orders, so it is an easy in-easy-out way to have a take home meal.
