we’re kids. Why won’t you guys make school times later? I don’t remember the last time I haven’t felt tired. I know 12 year olds who got up at 6am and go to Starbucks first thing in the morning.

Just a tip for fellow educators: make sure you do not call within a hour of closing time. They close at 5pm Monday through Friday. I called, made it through the RIDICULOUSLY LONG automated system. I finally get a real person- they can't help so they send me through to a license specialist. I am put on hold. My wait time is stated as 17 minutes. Fine. 22 minutes later....no one has picked up my call and it is now 5pm. What happens next? The automated system comes back on, states that it is now 5pm and the office is closed, and then disconnects the phone call. WORST SERVICE EVER!!! If we cannot call with 45 minutes left in your business day- then you need to say that you do not accept phone calls past 4pm. Or here is a novel idea.... continue to take the phone calls for those of us that were put on hold when you were still open. You know- like EVERY SINGLE EDUCATOR IN AMERICA STAYS LONG PAST THEIR CONTRACT HOURS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THOSE THEY SERVE?!?!

Today I called the Board of Education and spoke to a person named Cathy, who I must say was very rude and unprofessional. Mind you when I asked for her name, she responded "why does it matter"!!?? I will never understand how someone that is supposed to assist the public can work for the Illinois State Board of Education and be so rude to individuals that they are supposed to be assisting. If you do not like your profession, please quit so that they can hire someone that is willing to treat humans with the respect they deserve. Long story short the call was not worth the aggravation.

Make an account on isbe. Click on Credentials tab. You will find your certificate/license there. You can then print it out. When you provide your IEIN number to your school, they will be able to locate it on isbe.
