I am so happy with the Basta organization. The help received was wonderful. We had a sad situation regarding an eviction and Basta stepped in and was so helpful. They were attentive to our needs, and readily available to assist. I recommend them to whoever might need services. I need to emphasize that in our case we needed to go to court for a jury trial to avoid eviction. Irving Figueroa was phenomenal !!! He was supportive and very patient. He gave us updates on court proceedings and informed us of what information might be needed. I am so happy with the results, and Mr. Irving Figueroa's help, as well as the Basta team.

Kevin has been helping me with an ongoing situation where I had to break a lease and the landlord is dragging his feet mitigating damages. He's been a huge help and guiding me free of charge. I highly recommend you reach out, even if you just have a small question or you're feeling like you don't have a case. Ask!

Weren’t able to help us. After coming in with the 3 day to quit, they told us to come back once we got a summons and we did and they told us they didn’t have the bodies for Pasadena court. But gave us a referral to someone that worked for BASTA but branched out on their own, he could possibly help us. But it would cost us and they were getting a referral Bonus if they can’t help they ARE OTHER OPTIONS GO TO THE COURT HOUSE AND FILL OUT A RESPONSE ITS EASIER AND less stressful than lawyers and the “unknown” don’t let them “refer” you anywhere that’s just a kickback for them.

Basta knows more about tenant rights than any other law firm in L.A., and they are tenacious advocates for their clients. They represent everyone from the indigent to the middle class (don't be put off by the bare-bones offices), so depending where you fall on the economic scale you may be pro bono or you may be a pay client - but either way they will treat you honestly. In our case they went up against a huge real estate developer and their high-priced law firm and won us a very substantial settlement. Most attorneys would have given up after some initial setbacks but they kept on fighting - highly recommended!

Questions & Answers

How long do I have to answer 60 day eviction notice

The 60 day eviction notice must have a reason to be asking to vacate the property if you are in a rental control property you have more options to don't be evicted if the eviction it's because just wanted to increase the rent the court will deny the filing also if the notice requires and answer will state in the document how long time you have to answer. If it's a notice doesn't require to be answered it's just a notification that the landlord wants to take possession of the property and if you want to stay you must look for a formal representation. But have on mine that the best it's to go over and show the documents they will answer your questions and if you really need representation they will let you know.

I had a flood in my apt. My apt. has major ongoing plumbing problems. I was order to stay home while neighbor downstairs was sent to a nice hotel for 3 days.
