Visiting from PA. It was a beautiful park. Dogs allowed in signed area and on 6 foot leash. Easy to find, easy to walk. I'd give it a qtr mile walk at best to get to the beach and then pick any spot you want. Even some shelling. Tons of seaweed.. You will find people letting their unleashed dog go do whatever it wants to including coming over to your area NOT under voice command and disturbing your leashed dog. That's not on the park, that's on the dog owner--just advising that while there, keep an eye out if you're nervous of other dogs or your dog is. Overall it was a great visit.

Honeymoon island has several areas to visit and today we went to the pet beach. There is a cafe, changing rooms and restrooms which were clean. The pet beach is about a 10 minute walk to the actual beach from the parking lot on a hard packed trail. The beach is long and varies in condition, from lots of seaweed, very rocky and nice sandy bottom. We were there at low tied so that may have accounted for some of the seaweed and rocky area being exposed. It is also a shallow area so we were able to wade out quite a bit. We also collected a few nice shells by just casually walking down the beach. The size of the beach is fairly large, leaving plenty of room to spread out. Our furry buddy enjoyed the time there and it was a relaxing day. Can’t wait to visit the northern side and also taking the ferry over to Caledesi Island.

Thank you for being leash controlled! Neither myself nor Gibson have any interest in the chaos of an off-leash park, but Gibson LOVES to swim, so we happily pay to play here. The beach is always clean and we love that this is no small sliver of an option! We love being able to stroll along the water for quite a distance or plop and rest in the sand. Also, HUGE thank you for having clean legit bathrooms.

Worth the trip even if we only had 2 hours total. White sand beaches. Blue water. Many beaches. Easy parking. Lots of beautiful shells. $8 admission is worth it. The rangers are super nice & carrying. I had broken my foot the day prior. When we drove up my husband asked if there was a beach he recommended given my walking boot. The ranger immediately offered a wheelchair. I was a amazed of such kindness. End result, Oasis Beach was our pick.

No and be sure to use the trail for the dog beach that runs behind the beach so you don't end up in a section where dogs are not permitted.
You drive to honeymoon island state park and to the dog beach parking area. Then there's a walk to the dog beach area. I'd say it's about half a mile walk.
First...you can only go to the dog beach(south) area, which is the whole area along the pass and around to the back...the rules state 6ft leash only, must be on at all times and can't just run loose...with that said it has sort of become a free-for-all, but if you get caught I have seen the Fwc give tickets and they aren't cheap, not even a warning.
Most dogs don't like the saltwater. Bring along some fresh water and they'll probably choose that instead. Ever seen this doggy water bottle with the flip-down lid they can lap from? They work pretty well but you may have a bigger dog.
No boat ramps on the beach but you can launch from nearby.
Yes. It's modest and based on occupancy of vehicle up to a max. Not sure of details
