The boarding space at our vets was full, so we contacted Finger Lakes Pet Resort to inquire about boarding our bichon for one night. The woman on the phone was very nice and set my mind at ease. We agreed on a $68 package and dropped her off. When we picked her up the following day, no one told us anything about how her experience was (did she eat her food?, etc.); the woman who came out of the back with our dog seemed to be in a hurry; she actually left the facility before we pulled out of the parking lot. I was charged $86. Having just completed a 3 hour drive, I decided to address the billing discrepancy and the lack of communication regarding her stay with the woman I first spoke to the following day. When I got her on the phone to do just that, she said she would speak to her manager and get back to me. Shortly after our conversation, approximately, 24 hours after I picked up my dog, our bichon began vomiting and experiencing diarrhea. She had never before been so ill. I called back 2 days later since I hadn’t got a response and left a message. Still no response. Two days after that I finally got a hold of the woman I first spoke to who informed me that there was a “misunderstanding” on how she quoted me and that the extra $18 charge was correct. In the meantime, my dog had gotten sicker and sicker. She vomited up something that we thought might have been blood, so we rushed her to the vet, (this is now 5 days after we picked her up from FLPR). The vet looked her over, gave her some medicine and food for a special diet and suggested they take an x-ray and do bloodwork. We left the vet after paying a $600 bill to restore our dog's good health. It should go without saying that I will never use this facility again.

Our 7 month old yellow lab puppy was boarded at Finger Lakes Pet Resort for 6 days starting August 15th. After an initial 45 minute intake call we had high hopes for the experience but unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. Upon drop off on Monday morning around 9 am it was absolute chaos. Many young girls working and running around as they were being shouted commands from a woman who was not warm nor welcoming. She appeared to be highly frustrated. There was no greeting or personal pleasantries or feelings of comfort as we left her for the week. We had a similar experience at pick up on Saturday. No personalization or feeling that anyone interacted with her or us. Bayleigh was brought up front and handed over with no feedback on her stay. A few hours later we noticed she began to make noises that sounded like choking. This continued throughout the weekend and caused us to take her to the vet Monday morning. We quickly learned that she had kennel cough. The vet educated us that while she is vaccinated the shot is much like the flue shot and she would still be at risk if exposed. Due to the highly contagious nature of this respiratory infection extremely precautionary measures would of needed to be taken to protect her. We also learned that our senior rescue dog would likely also have the infection. We left with cough medicine and a $250 vet bill. We reached out to Finger Lakes and tried to speak with a manager, after several calls she refused to speak with a co-owner or emergency contact which appeared to be a tactic in avoidance. We resorted to Facebook and wrote a review only to see the next day that all reviews were removed. This business appears to want to disguise the fact they have active kennel cough cases. While there is now a sign posted on their door I feel it’s their responsibility to disclose this verbally and educate people so they can make informed decisions about their family members. With a 45 minute intake call this should be discussed! The behavior and response from this organization ensures we will never entrust our pets with them again. Their lack of customer service, empathy or integrity is disturbing. Our senior dog remains I’ll after a week and likely will need to be seen by the vet again for potential pneumonia. It’s sad that there is no regard from this company to the well being of our pets.

I had a very bad experience working here. This company doesn't care about their employees and as a direct result, the dogs suffer. People are constantly walking out on their jobs because they are overworked and underpaid. As an employee here I saw much room for improvement. I brought a solution to the management/owner and was quickly brushed off. They don't have enough staff to keep up with the promised activities for the dogs. There are some nice people that work here but for the most part, it is stressful, unorganized, and poorly run. I wouldn't recommend this company for employment and I certainly wouldn't take my fur baby there.
