I accidentally booked a hotel in independence,MO not knowing there was a Independence, KS. The man who worked overnight was very friendly and very understanding and allowed me extra time to checkout with no cost.

Looks are deceiving! You walk into the lobby looks very nice… the front desk was VERY nice every time we had to talk to them…but once you enter the room all that goes away… VERY DISAPPOINTED in the up keep of the rooms & house keeping. You can tell by the picture they need to hire NEW house keeping. Shower had a very nice long hair in it. Beds looked like they had been laid in prior to us renting room, other pictures are of dried rice & peanuts & there was more on the floor and this top it off the ice bucket🤢 the bag in it was used water was standing in bucket & the top of the lid had BLACK mold YUCK!!! The front desk was going to leave a note for the manager he never reached out to us while we stayed for 3 days. At ck out we addressed the issues and the response was they gave us 1 free night. Would I recommend this room??? Well if you don’t have dogs I would just go to Coffeyville to the Holiday Inn. Stayed here because we wanted to be closer to family.

Staff was especially friendly and helpful. Rooms were average. Ours smelled kind of funky. Indoor pool was heated and nice but of course, the hot tub was closed for repairs. Breakfast was good- hot stuff and fresh fruit, decent coffee. Power outage in our room as we were prepping to leave for an event meant was rather annoying but still better than Apple Tree.

Do not stay here when sports teams stay. Very low water pressure & no hot water. Got caught fully soaped in the shower, water went down to a trickle & turned cold. Informed the front desk & that's when I was told it happens every time sports teams stay there.
