It's hard to find a good butcher shop these days because everyone just uses their local grocery store. Well, I prefer to support a local independent butcher shop, and today, I found an absolute gem. I've been following Skip's Butcher Shop in Fairport, NY for a while now on Instagram, I've had plenty of time lately as I'm recovering from shoulder surgery. Anyway, I stopped by this afternoon to finally check this place out. This Butcher Shop is fantastic, I can't wait to go back. Their selections of meats and cooking related items was very impressive, along with their competitive pricing and quality. But the thing that stands out for me, is their service. Everyone there was friendly and polite and really willing to help. You can tell the difference between employees that just have a job, and the people that genuinely want to help customers. Skip's offers lots of different homemade sausages, that's important to me. Their cuts of meat were impressive, everything was slightly larger/thicker and of obvious higher quality than virtually every other shop I've been to. The store is immaculate, every item is organized and clearly labeled making it easy to navigate through so you can find just the right item you want. The other thing that caught my eye is that they also offer enough selection of things like onions, potatoes, breads, buns and rolls that you don't have to make another trip to the grocery store, just to make a meal, everything is very well thought out. I'm including plenty of pictures so you can see for yourself, but the only way to find out, is to visit them yourself and I hope I've inspired you to pay them a visit. If you haven't taken the time to visit Skip's Fairport you are really missing out. Compare Skip's Fairport pricing & quality against anywhere, and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Skip's Fairport always has the best prices, and quality you can't find anywhere else but Skip's Fairport. Ok, well maybe at a high end restaurant for quality, but certainly not the price.

Really poor customer service. Came in and stood there for 5 plus minutes while 3 staff members chatted amongst them selfs. There wasn't any other customer in the store. Then had the ordasity to say "is anyone helping you " then proceeded to pay and the owner wouldn't even make eye contact . I'd be hard pressed to go back again.
