It's sad & a shame what this company, Wyndham, & it's employees has done to this building. I visited solo, July 2009, when Hilton owned it: the Doubletree hotel. It was gorgeous then & it felt ALIVE & CLEAN! I desperately tried to make resv to return in 2019 to take my partner here so they could experience it in all it's glory! I found it by asking the locals - couldn't find the "tree hotel" in Omaha on the web. Of course, being under new mgmt, I couldn't find it's (new) name or find it by photo / aesthetics descriptors, hotel description! (Poor marketing) ONLY the beauty of the trees is what keeps the hotel only @ half decent-looking for presentability only - not in functionality (if you go in or stay, the trees aren't worth it). In '19, & from what I read of other recent reviews, they haven't changed since '19. When we were there, '19, it's more akin to a "motel" feel: ratty, in disrepair, no care. I didn't notice when I stayed in '09 but it is in not a great location (perhaps why Hilton dumped it). Location feels like dumpy gang area (or what I imagine a rundown area equivalency is). 2019 experience: - Ext lighting: awful. Scared to leave our car parked overnight. - Front desk personnel: unpleasant attitude, didn't want to assist (even just to rekey the key card) & unhelpful. - Room: • was stuffy (guessing they didn't maintain air conditioning @ basic standards); "mattress" (or, "hay" for bed) was lumpy & unsupportive; bedding didn't feel clean; no tv channels (Rm was given 2 stars instead of only 1 bc of bigger sz but weird balcony shape & tiny bath!) • TINY, awkwardly designed bathroom! - Continental breakfast was not clean & practically nonexistent (we went to a local restaurant for breakfast). - Cleanliness was an issue EVERYWHERE. I was torn: show my partner the hotel's potential experience or leave! I was sad! Except for it being late & us being tired & w.o my really wanting my partner to share & witness & experience the hotel, we would've left bc of the many & overall dirty factors: bacteria (& maybe mold) growth everywhere (can smell it); visible dirt; unclean air feel (heavy, air smells bad); things out of order (1 elevator, elevator lights flicker, lights in rest of bldg out, etc); clutter; visible disrepair; sounds of an unkempt place (loud a/c, loud bldg machines); gloomy feel. This is all I can recall. Perhaps I'm blocking out some of it. Believe me, I'm not glossing over it w rose tinted lenses just bc it held a special spot in my heart in '09. I was saddened by it's unmaintained appearance & the reality hit when Google reminded me today, July '22, of the pics I took July '19. I've been not wanting to write a bad review because it held a special place in my heart in '09 & to acknowledge it's grossness, even now, is like ripping that memory away or somehow destroying the memory. But I'm doing a disservice to the building & the town if I remain silent & I hope this will get the co's attn to get all new employees who actually give a damn bc it can be a great place! Of course, this being 2022 now & the lackluster that is the new generation of ppl who only care Abt "gender identity" & the epidemic they bring, it may be difficult to find good citizens that care Abt more than just collecting a paycheck. If only it found someone else to care for it.. If I can find pics from '09, I'll upload later on so you can see it's potential. Here are some pics from '19. It's so sad to let down the beauty that it once was & for it to become a beast. Age will do that but this was an untimely demise bc this bldg has lost its dignity, unfortunately & sadly. I tried to get pics of how it could be pretty but it was dark. In the 1st pic (ext), tar is visible. The dark tile caulk (btwn tiles) inside also means dirt & uncared for. You can't rely solely on the sun to provide a warm or enjoyable feeling!

This hotel deserves less than 1 star. Where do I even begin? We were on the premises for less than 15 minutes before we decided that you couldn’t pay us to sleep in this dump …. The first room they gave us was damp and smelled moldy. The air vents were CAKED in a thick layer of dust like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. The bed was not made well and the bed skirt had a huge rip in it. The bathroom toilet had the seat up with used toilet paper floating in the water. We three cockroaches in a matter of being in the room for less than 3 minutes. Giving the hotel the benefit of the doubt, we let the employee at the desk know how bad the room was. The employee working at the desk apologized, turned around, and grabbed an industrial sized bottle of roach killer and told us he would go spray. Completely appalled by this resolution, we requested a new room trying to convince ourselves it was just a fluke. When we got to the second room, the door wasn’t shut so we didn’t even need our key, the kitchenette faucet was leaking, the room smelled worse than the first one, and there was a cockroach crawling on the refrigerator. We weren’t even in the second room for 20 seconds when we turned right around, packed our car back up, left the hotel, and found a nicer hotel down the road. I cannot believe this place passes any sort of inspection. It’s absolutely disgusting. I will say that given everything wrong with this place, the front desk employee was extremely kind and friendly- everything else was gross and not fit to host guests.

The hotel needs serious updating. We stayed there several years ago when it was owned by another hotel chain and it was very nice then. It looks like it hasn't been touched since then. There was trash outside both entrances. There was trash in the planters and the trash cans in the lobby were overflowing. The room was not very clean. There was something on the curtain over the door and on the wall that looked like lipstick or crayon. The couch was stained. The glass coffee table had dirt underneath the glass. There were ants in the living room area and in the bathroom. The vents had thick layers of dust on them. The carpet was frayed. The bathroom had no toilet paper holder. The grout in the shower had dirty, mold/mildew in it. When we first got there, the toilet overflowed.. The hotel was also very understaffed. It looked like they had only 3 people working there. It can be a great place again if they invest some time and money in it

Horrible Liked · I only liked the location and the nice lady that gave me towels when we first came because we didn’t have any towels in our room. She was very helpful, I hate I don’t remember her name but she has awesome customer service skills. I also liked the fact that security walks and checks everywhere to keep everyone safe. Disliked · I had to go up and down the elevator twice because the keys would not work to let me in the room. It worked the 3rd time. Finally when we got into the room it was very nasty as if they never cleaned it. It looked like somebody wasted something all over the couch and it looked very disgusting and the room smelled very bad. The door was broken off the hinges to the bedroom and the bathroom did not have a light switch at all. I reported this to the lady behind the desk and she just gave me another room. When we went to that room, it smelled like someone had been smoking cigarettes in there but it was a sign on the outside that said no smoking. The cover for the vent by the area to iron was sitting on the floor. No towels in the room whatsoever. To top it off, there were roaches in the room and that just made it worse. I went I bought some bug spray from the Walmart up the street. Due to us being 3 hours away from home we just tried to do our best with the room but it sucked that I paid for such a horrible experience. For the price I at least thought I would be able to get a clean room but this was definitely a horrible experience. Then when we needed more towels the next day, they didn’t have any more towels. We had to wash and dry with hand towels. This was my first time ever using booking.com and I thought this would be a great place to stay but I definitely would not stay here again. This was just a very horrible experience for a Fourth of July weekend. So many things could definitely be better. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Please stay somewhere else. Refund please

For the money it is pretty good. It does need updating. And the pool has a lot of problems, so it us hit and miss. But does allow pets which is a big bonus for some.
