OK so first off I want to say that the staff here is great, they’re doing their best And I have zero problem and The upmost respect for everyone Trying to do their best to help people. The reason for the Onestar is that this facility is completely inadequate for the amount of people that it’s trying to take care of. I’ve been in cities that have the same population or less than Columbia and have emergency rooms that are three times the size fully staffed and can get people taken Care of it in a timely manner. If you’re in trouble or sick you’re gonna be in for a wait And to me that’s not with the emergency room is for. This place needs to be completely renovated expanded to about four times at size and the staff needs as much help as they can get. You’re in trouble I don’t know what to tell you find someplace else to go.

As a former employee in the OR I will say it is the most disgusting part off the hospital. The men an women act like it's 8th grade lunch period. They talk about patients while operating throwing multiple insults to the patients. Very gross people. The people in charge are sleeping with employees under them like it's no biggie. Supervisors scolding and yelling obscenities at other employees in front of other employees which is highly illegal. This part of the company should be investigated they don't have proper supplies for people. Madison for people. Completely unprepared group of professionals supposedly.

I came to MU Emergency late on the day of 3-15-22 for a badly dislocated left shoulder. I had already spent six hours in the Macon Mo. Samaritan Hospital Emergency room. They wanted me to go there next for some reason. I was there four hours and they never once even put "any" kind of cold pack on my badly dislocated shoulder! Also, I brought my CT scan and X-rays with me in a manila envelope and gave it to them. They went ahead for no reason and X-rayed my shoulder again. Then after four hours of them doing nothing for me. A lady Doctor comes in with her team. She said they wanted me to stay another six to ten hours for observation. I saw this as a blatant attempt to just pad my bill for no good reason, and I told them I wanted discharged immediately. I was getting afraid they might put me on Remdesivir and cram a vent tube down my throat. Never again will I return to this Emergency room.

Baby Girl

I showed up at the University ER department very sick, from the registration dept to my ER room I was treated with respect and professionalism. I wish I could remember all their names to say thank you to all. I was admitted to 4W there again from the transporters to the nurse technician, the nurses, My care team leader and over seeing Physician was fantastic in treating and explaining my treatment plan on getting me well. I again give them a 5 star 🌟. I will only use the the University of Mo Columbia Mo hospital and Emergency Room. Thank you all very much.
