I was born in Burlington, Kansas. My relatives had farms that were taken away because of this nuclear plant being built. There is an old cemetery across the lake from the plant. My parents are buried there, and my grandparents along with many other relatives. More than one reason for my sadness about seeing this plant and hearing it. I was amazed that the nuclear plant did not blow it's whistle while graveside services were conducting.

I was born here, believe it or not. Beautiful place, I came here for my 7th birthday to revisit my birth place. Beautiful state. I love Kansas!!!

Was a great place to work before reactor went on line. Met so many great people from all over the states. Still miss them and Kansas!

Yes
Capacity of the electric generator is 1200 megawatts
Coffey County Lake at one point had their own number. It's ran by the Coffey County Sheriff's department, so I'd call them if you can't find the lake number.
Plant tours there can be arranged, there may be some restrictions based on age and/or backgrounds. I suggest calling at 620 364 8831
Daniels was the contractor.
