Hyatt Place Lincoln/Downtown-Haymarket

Wow, I just had the worst experience talking with Dennis at the front desk on the property. If I could give No Stars, that's what I would have rated this Hyatt Place. My personal circumstances changed and was in need of a room while attending a wedding across the street. I was too late in booking the block of rooms set aside for it, but called the property to see if there was any way they could assist me. I was very pleasant with each of the three people I was transferred to. Then, I reached Dennis. He basically chastised me and said next time I attend a wedding I better make sure I call three or four weeks in advance. His response was basically "TOO BAD-You Missed It" and said there was only $399/night rooms left. When I said that was going to be too expensive, he told me I could go check with other hotels. He would not let me speak to a manager for further assistance and didn't even let me finish my sentence before talking over me and hanging up. This is the WORST customer experience I have ever had!

Positive: location is great. Lot's of food and entertainment options nearby. Negative: Ice machines on the floor were not found (not sure they have them). At night it got a little loud with a bunch of children and pets. Also, the outside noise from the nightlife and folks on the sidewalks could be heard in the evening.

Absolutely the most uncomfortable hotel bed I've ever stayed in - was so firm it felt like I was sleeping on the floor. The pillows were not much better and the sheets were scratchy and uncomfortable. The toilet was constantly making noise, which made it difficult to get a good night's rest. Plus the walls are so thin you can hear every door down the hall open and close. Breakfast was good the first day of our stay but the quality steadily declined.

Very nice hotel in a great area of Lincoln. Visit was during the State basketball tournament and although the prices were higher it wasn't unfair like some Lincoln hotels. Service was great, as were rooms and other facilities. Breakfast was the usual but good with good selection. Linda who assisted with our checkout and changing reservations was great. I great representative for Hyatt.
