Free dry camping in an amazing forest! I never knew this was even possible let alone FREE! I stumbled across the it online one day! This location was ideal for my first dry camping adventure! It was a great area for a small camper or tent! You can park anywhere there is a spot and set up your camp. We went with a small pop-up and had an amazing adventure! We felt like we had the whole forest to ourselves! We were able to have a fire to cook on and had all of the camper windows wide open most of the time. The air here is amazing and clean! We would spend the days out hiking and exploring the local areas and the evenings would be spent completely unplugged from the world. We still had 12volt lights and running water in the camper running off the trailer battery. It was great to still have some convince yet not be bothered by the outside world for a while! I recommend for anyone and everyone to try this at some point!

This is a really nice dispersed camping area. There are about four good spots that are level, large and clear of underbrush. The forest of mixed hardwood and conifer provides plenty of shade. No amenities other than a vault toilet. Great area for camping, the 4 C Trail is a 20 mile trail that goes from Neches Bluff to Ratcliff Lake camping area. Great view from the bluff. Our Search and Rescue Team spends several weekends a year at the bluff doing various training evolution and we teach a large variety of courses at Neches Bluff such as Basic and Advanced Survival. Great place to just visit or spend a few days.

Brother and I had a great time camping and hunting. Plenty of firewood laying around, even had to clean up trees across the main dirt road once. Wild life was far between and never saw one hog in 5 days of hunting. Bring your own TP.

I'm not really sure but you can call the park ranger number for the park and maybe ask. 936-655-2299. It was provided at the entrance for questions.
