Horrible Horrible Horrible. ER department needs help very unprofessional, lazy, rude, didn't communicate well. 1st day horrible care did not do a full exam to narrow down problem. Quick to say it was mentally controllable. 2nd day came back same symptoms waited hours and child still wasn't seen, but was pass over numerous times. Thankfully we just left after 3 hours and drove to Wichita Wesley and received the help and answers my child needed.

I, John Waterman, a resident of Salina, is absolutely ashamed of SRHC and how they represent this community. As a PA I witnessed the surgeon (who was the acting, diagnosing ER doctor for some reason) thrice say the patient shouldn't come to the hospital again. He also several times implied the patient was drug-seeking, even though we told him she had pain meds at home and our goal was to get a CT scan to diagnose a fistula. The patient was right, and there was a fistula. But the surgeon said she shouldn't come here, and next time she wanted to go to an ER, she should simply go to Cleveland's ER, where they could do something. I respected that he admitted his incompetence, but that doesn't forgive his callousness. After being admitted, this same surgeon 'accidentally' put the patient on NPO status, which meant the patient was being starved. Seems like this was done on purpose to get rid of her. The nurse had the exact same attitude, implying over and over that the patient needs to go. This leads me to believe this is an administrative policy to behave this way. If so, you need to change your mission statement. I have witnessed it over and over throughout the years, but it is getting worse.

What can I say...our health care system is in poor shape. Overwhelmed, short handed staff! The staff has little time for one on one care. All staff could use some telephone training. We are calling to check on a loved one. Don't make us feel like we are such an inconvenience. With that said I guess we have no choices but SRHC.

This is just to address the front desk staff. Went in due to my dad needing emergency gallbladder removal and tried to go to the waiting room with my mom. Lady was super rude and pushy and didn't want to let me in and was lowkey accusing me of lying to her. Very disrespectful and unnecessarily rude.

Visiting hours are technically on a patient to patient basis. However as Michelle De Villiers said all external doors lock at 9pm and dont unlock until 5am. From 9pm to 9:30pm the doors from the ED into the hoapital are unlocked. After that there is a small phone just pick it up and tell the operator who you are here to see and they will let you in.
On the 4th floor
