Thank you Longmont Fire Department for helping my elderly Father with his smoke alarms. Your firefighters were very professional & personable - They went above and beyond to help!

So my family was in a pretty serous crash I wasn't involved. I was notified and so I went to the scene. Upon arrival I seen my kids so I went to them. Right before I got to them a firefighter tried to grab my arm. I swiped his hand away from me and said dont. Family was transported to the hospital by ambulance. After being there for a few hours an office had pulled me to the side and stated that I could have had charges pressed against me for "PUSHING" a fire fighter. Hhhmmm my question is how did I push one when all i did was swipe his hand away...... so lets make sure our so called city "protection services" dont LIE about events.

On a day like today where there's so much fire there just smoke wafting through the city, it's when you're most reminded how incredibly hard these guys are working to keep our community safe. Thanks guys :-)

Longmont Fire Services works in partnership with the Longmont community to ensure that residents have working smoke alarms and batteries. Fire staff will assist the elderly and those that are disabled to change smoke alarm batteries and install smoke alarms within the Longmont city limits. There is no charge for this service. Please call 303-651-8501 to make arrangements.

Can I get a home fire extinguisher recharged at a fire station?

Hi. Fire stations do not have the capability of charging fire extinguishers. Please visit this City of Longmont website as it will offer you some potential options. There is an email and a phone number at the bottom of the webpage if you need further assistance. Visit longmontcolorado.gov and search for fire extinguishers.
