Hi - I'm having a hard time sharing the image but if you search on Facebook (works even if you don't have an account) for Executive Office, Oakland County, Michigan it will pull up the event flyer/photo. However the basics is a Veteran's Care Package Giveaway from 10am - 1pm of food and community information and resources.
Yes, a 24 hr slots (A/V, Youth, Adult) located just before the drive up window off the parking lot
Using your Southfield Library card you can access e-books, digital audio books, movies, music and more from our digital library - https://southfieldlibrary.org/digital-library. Hoopla and Overdrive have popular ebooks for adults. Hoopla, Overdrive, Tumblebooks and Speakaboos have popular ebooks for children. EBSCO Host offers non-fiction books for adults and coming October 1st our EBSCO ebooks offerings will be expanding as well.
Most certainly! You will need to purchase a print card for $1, 50 cents is the cost of the card and 50 cents is value on the card and you can add more funds if needed. Black and white prints are 15 cents a page and color prints are 50 cents a page. The first time you print is a bit complicated but our computer assistants and librarians are happy to walk you through it.
Yes. The staff is good. They also offer a variety of computer courses. Check with the computer lab on 3rd floor.
Yes, as long as you bring a driver's license or state id + your Royal Oak library card and see the staff at the checkout/circulation desk .
The library is on Evergreen between 11 and 10 Mile.
Our wifi is available to anyone and everyone. It is SPL_Public and no password is needed.
Yes we do in our children's section! You can find them at https://encore.southfieldlibrary.org/iii/encore/search/C__Splayaway__Orightresult__U?lang=eng&suite=citrus
Please call our computer reservation line at 248-796-4358 and they can help with all the details.
Sorry not at this time.

We have free Internet. If you have your own device you can connect to our wi-fi under SPL-Public. If you have a Southfield Library Card you can use one of our computers for as long as we are open. If you don't have a card you can get a guest pass with a picture ID which is good for 2 hours of computer use each day.
Its available to everyone
Yes, we have fax machines on all three levels in our copy rooms. Instructions are on the machines and the cost is $1 a page with the first page being free.
Guest passes are absolutely free. Just bring along your picture ID and a guest pass gives you 2 hours of computer access. If you live, work, go to school or own property in Southfield or Lathrup Village you can get a Southfield Library card which gives you unlimited time on the computers, access to check out materials and lots of other great services.
Yes you can. Your best bet is to view it in the computer labs on the 1st or 3rd levels as they have more capabilities than the rest of the computers. Also, if there is audio you can bring your own headphones or we have earbuds for sale for $3 at the circulation desk.
You can search the library's catalog online from anywhere. However, you would have to log -in in order to have them put it on hold for you.
For you to receive a fax the number is 248-945-5101, this goes to the copier/faxer on the 1st level. If you are not there to receive the fax it is then taken to the circulation desk for you to pick up and the cost is $1 a page with the first page being free. If you would like to send us a fax it can be done at 248-796-4305.
