I went to this facility from the hospital after a total knee replacement. It was exactly what i needed, the majority of the staff was kind and caring, and i rarely had to wait more than 5 minutes for them to answer my buzzer - longer did happen but it was not often during the 3 week stay. The food team tried - went out of their way to make sure breakfast worked for me - they just don't serve healthy low cal, fresh food that i am used to eating. Way too much fried food and carbs. The PT and OT team was cheerful and helped me on my road to recovery.

Thank god for the bad reviews. If nobody spoke up I would’ve brought my mother here but by the looks of it, this place needs to be shut down.

Unfortunately the cons far outweighed the pros during my moms stay at Regency of Shelby. From being understaffed, lack of communication, limited follow through from nearly every department from rehab to food services and nursing. If I had not been there daily inquiring and insisting my moms needs be met, I am unsure of how she would have progressed. I understand being understaffed- however, waiting upwards of 40-50 minutes for someone to get to you after the call light is activated is unacceptable. Also- it is next near impossible to speak with any upper level staff (ex, social worker, nurse manager, rehabilitation manager etc) because they seem to be in meetings all day, everyday. Overall a very disappointing experience and I hope my mom never has to step foot in the place again. It is a newer facility so it’s clean and looks “nice” from the outside looking in. However, there are major issues with patient care and how the facility runs in my opinion. Also- be prepared to bring your loved one food every day - the food was terrible and the kitchen could never get the menu requests correct.

My mother in law was there for 15 days. The staff communication is horrible, it’s so hard to reach out for the social workers. It took more than two weeks to get her a company that come out for physical therapy evaluation, so we decided to do it ourselves. They should got it done a week before she was supposed to leave. The ladies from the front desk are the ones who are super helpful and friendly. The place is clean so that’s a good thing. But sometimes you can hear nurses complaining about patients and just sound annoyed. I get it, it’s a lot of people for a such short staff but then the agency needs to hire more people.

Currently Regency at Shelby doesn't have a PACE program; however, please reach out the admissions/administration office at the facility directly and they maybe able do a one time contract.
