Thursday night, 9:30 pm close to closing time. I wasn’t sure what I needed for a bench project but the gentleman in the hardware section got me the right bolts, washers, and wing nuts to finish the job. He was a major help and was incredibly helpful, even at closing time.

I went to The Home Depot in Alexandria Virgina on Little River Turnpike in search of a Milwaukee Packout storage system and some other tools. This store has a lot of items in stock so you can see the items in person vs. hoping you got it correct online. The most important note regarding my visit was my interaction with two employees. First, Douglass Martin saw me and took the time to ask if I needed assistance. We looked up an item that was in stock but stored in one of four locations requiring a forklift. He searched until he found it, found a forklift operator, and had the item in my hands in less than 10 minutes. He was very polite and knowledgeable. Second, Anthony took care of me at the register. He saw I had several large items and was waiting for me outside the register with the scanner gun ready. He was very polite and engaging and even shook my hand after wishing me a good afternoon. I am looking forward to my next visit here at The Home Depot, Annandale VA.

I special ordered interior doors from this Home Depot in August 2021. A month later they arrived damaged, supposedly the shipping palett wasnt used correctly. We re-ordered them and another month later, they emailed me to pick up, then when I presented to do so, the staff could not find them readily and after a long wait, we were offered the same pair of damaged doors. That's right, the dings were in the same spots. We requested that our 10% military discount be honored this time (it wasn't the first time due to special order), and were met with resistance then grudgingly given 5%. Now that this second order failed to be fulfilled, we requested a refund and to get it took multiple follow ups. We were close to disputing the charge when they finally came through close to two weeks after the whole thing was canceled. There was no "sorry" uttered by anyone in customer service at any point, the attitude seemed to be that it was just the shipping company's fault. In the end, two months and no doors. I will not shop with this Home Depot or possibly any Home Depot for anything serious again. Floor staff were nice enough but customer service and corporate were *very* disappointing and unaccountable. We ended up going with a custom door company.

Very busy. Parking lot is a zoo. Lots of staff but little help. Many regular items remain with price unmarked. Nevertheless they have most items I've needed and a fair prices if you are willing to spend your time at it.
