Awesome food, friendly staff, unique and awesome experience! Whether you have kids who like trains or you're a kid at heart who likes trains, there's nothing quite like having your food delivered on a train!

The place is very cute! My son had a blast while there. Something to add - he is 3.5. And this is what they do - easily impressed and grab and touch everything. Naturally, my son touched one of the train cars and the train stopped. It wasn’t broken, just stopped and was shortly fully running after a small correction. The lady owner, or a manager, was really unfriendly about it though. She gave the looks, she fussed and was visibly irritated by it. Aside from that, when our waiter suggested a to go cup for a shake my son barely touched - she actually said out loud “we don’t even have to go cups and need to go downstairs”. I think the poor guy regretted suggesting it. The rest of the staff was great but you could see they are suppressed by her. Needless to say we left very fast which I am sure was a relief to her. The experience was ruined.

This is a legit burger, I was not expecting that. One of the best short order burgers I’ve ever had. You can tell they grind their own meat and make their own patties. The double burger is serious business. Very kid friendly, I believed this would have tourist food, but it’s solid. DO NOT TOUCH THE TRAIN. Seriously, this is a vital rule, so make sure you tell your children.

Great experience for the kids. Limited seating which can lead to a long wait. Average food. Really expensive. 2 kids, 1 adult = $50 without tip. Watch the kids joyful faces and keep repeating, it's a great experience for the kids.

Definitely call because the owner needs sizes to order ahead of time. 😏😊
For this momement restaueant is closed.
As of right now, yes. Will that change? Who knows. There was talk of the kids taking over, but that didn't happen. With that being said, they just might be waiting for the pandemic to subside, so it's up in the air for now.
Choo Choo is currently "permanently" closed, as the owner passed away.
The owner passed - it has been closed for over a year.
Ya, I forget the name, and I think it's in Oak Park? There used to be a McDonald's in Crystal Lake with a caboose as a dinning room as well, but that's all gone. Try searching children's restaurant with Google Map, and slowly narrow down the radius, but I think it's not all that near you?
