One of our favorite hiking spots. Quick 2 mile hike along the bluffs and Root River. Kids like to skip rocks along the river. I've seen deer before along with various birds.

So pretty! It's a small, out of the way kinda place. Two miles of nice, wide grassy trails. We saw eagles, and owl of some sort and lots of little birds. We will definitely be back if we're in Rochester! :)

Nice park, has a porta potty at the parking lot. Dogs are not allowed on the trail for some reason. The 2 mile long trail takes you along the Root River with some amazing views of the bluffs. The trail down and up are a little muddy but along the bluff, the views are fantastic. There is an old stone bridge that is interesting from one side but blocked by landscape timbers on the other. Looks like they will be updating the park in the near future but there is still an active homestead on it.

Road leading to this park is gravel. Beautiful park with all the necessary amenities. Portable toilet, picnic tables and fire pits for cooking. Handicap parking is also included here. Beautiful park for a hike. The wildflowers are beautiful in the prairie reserve. About a 20-30 minute hike down to the river with benches along the way to rest. Not a paved trail but very well maintained. Posted no dogs allowed here.
