Major changes to metro U City. If you used to come here and love it, be aware it is nothing like it used to be. Entire experience was a disaster. Flies everywhere. No more long list of specialty lattes/drinks. Out of sausage at 9:30AM...? No longer using the rewards card where your 10th coffee / sandwich are free. When I asked about this and the drink list they looked at me like I was crazy and said "we've never had a snickerdoodle latte" etc. No longer bring drinks to you. No longer bring the food to you. No longer used plates. Trash bass music playing (this is coming from a Bassnectar fan). 25 minute wait for latte- no "sorry for the wait." So sad.

Had a fantastic sandwich today at Metropolitan today. Also tried the Cuban coffee. That was amazing. My new go to coffee and sandwich place. You've got to try this GREAT little spot!

We've suspended access to our free WiFi until Philadelphia once again allows indoor dining, Zach. It was supposed to start August 1st but has now been pushed back to September at the earliest. Once we can open up again we'll make it available. Jim Lilly/Owner
You can call and order from a list of cakes. But they don't add any special additions to the cakes for birthdays.
Thank you for asking. I'm not sure what you mean by "gourmet" breads. We have a broad selection of wheat, white and flavored breads, including raisin nut, olive thyme, rosemary olive oil, french rye and more. Most would be suitable for sandwiches depending on your preference. Jim Lilly/Owner
