Rocky point Recreational area beac is located in Troup County, Georgia. It is about 21 miles from LaGrange city. The place is very beautiful. Excellent Picnic , boating and recreational activities. Water is very Crystal Clear. Visiting in summer season will be very good. There are lot many places to visit nearby. Another beautiful place is West Point Lake is a man-made reservoir located mostly in west-central Georgia on the Chattahoochee River and maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The Chattahoochee river flows in from the north, before flowing through the West Point Dam, which impounds the lake, and continuing to Columbus, Georgia. Of the four major USACE lakes in the ACF River Basin, West Point Lake is the smallest by area containing 25,864 acres (10,467 ha) of water, and has the second shortest shoreline at 604 mi (972 km).[7] The purposes of the reservoir are to provide flood control, hydroelectric power, and water storage.

Absolutely one of my favorite places to fish. Today was our first time at this park. The camp hosts are super nice (Harriet and Darwin).

Nice family atmosphere. Beech area to swim along with other nice areas as well to swim, cookout or just relax underneath a tall oak tree. Summer 2017 my granddaughters and I are enjoying this place so very much.

Apparently it was just closed for the summer, they're are other areas down the road that are open for fishing, camping, and swimming. Veasey Creek Recreation was open down the street and a fairly decent place to picnic, camp, fish, and swim

The beach said is closed but everything else is open. I mean you can walk over there and walk around but you can't drive down there or bring anything past the gate on the beach

The beach closes at 6 I believe but fishing and boat launch all day and night
