I received two package slips in my box, and gave them to the person behind the counter to retrieve my packages. They came back with only one box, I asked if there was anything else for me, they said no, I asked them to double check and sure enough they come back out with my other package. This has happened twice now with two different employees.

As long as your passport is a 10 year passport and has not been expired for more than 5 years you do not need to have it processed by the post office. A renewal is a self service process. You will need new photos taken that can be done at the post office or any other place of your choice. Like Costco, CVS, or AAA. The post office charges $15 for their photos and is a walk-in service between the hours of 8:30 - 1:30 Monday - Friday.
Being under 16 you would have to come in with both parents still. To schedule an appointment you can go online to usps.com in the menu go to international then from there go to passports. You will find the online scheduler there. Also you can go to a self service kiosk at any USPS office that has one and schedule there or inside any USPS office a clerk can schedule an appointment for you at any of the surrounding post offices that processes passports.
If you have lost your Passport you will need to get a new one like you never had one. That means you will need to schedule an appointment have a form ds11 filled out , bring a state issued photo ID and your original certified copy birth certificate. Alternatively you can pay to have the department of state to run a records search if you can not get your birth certificate but there are no guarantees that the record search will be successful and in most cases cost prohibitive.
Postal money orders are available for purchase at any Federally operated Official Post Offices so yes you can get Money orders here.
