You should personally take a look at your roof twice a year. Look for cracked caulk or rust spots around pipes. Look for shingles that are missing, curling or buckling. If you see Moss or lichen or leaves, make sure to take care of those. Prestige Roofing and Exteriors should come out and professionally inspect your roof every 2-3 years.
Roofs need to be replaced every 20-25 years. If you are not sure of the age of your roof, you can look for tell tell signs that it is worn down. Look for curled or cracked shingles. Make sure there are no shingles missing. You can look for bald spots on your shingles. Check inside your attic for any water damage.
