I love the place but I don't like the way the people litter here that visit.

Great fun even catching the small ones.

Puppies of all shapes and sizes enjoy Farmington Pond. Just be aware this pond is a favorite of local fishermen and water fowl.
Yes, I go there regularly with my dog.
Yes, but very pretty.
When its stocked yes. But it freezes this time of year most nights
Not for a couple of years now. The city cut down the tree on the west side of the pond after the last fatality. There's a definite thermocline in the pond, with the deeper water being cold enough to shock swimmers who are unprepared for it.
It does close for the winter, not sure when. Maybe first snow.
You can cook in the fire pit camping isn't allowed. You can camp in Farmington Canyon you take a right at the split instead of the left to go up the canyon
The pond is pretty clean. If you're asking about swimming, be aware that there is a definite thermocline layer. As the pond is fed with snowmelt, bottom water is *very* cold. It's recommended you wear a pfd in the pond.
Farmington pond is closed during the winter
Yes, there are crawdads. Ive seen and caught them in the pond.
Yes it is but get bird food not bread bread is bad for ducks too many people feed ducks bread and they end up with a lot of dying Ducks there because of bread but duck food chicken food you can get small bags or me CAL Ranch or IFA store
Yes as long as you're not disturbing people fishing it is a fishing pond first
I myself have had great success with the catfish not shook much anything else
Mayfly Genus Baetis (Blue-Winged Olives) There are many fly patterns online. Ideally you want a fly that will sit low in the water to mimic the hatching mayflys. The mayflys often have a difficult time trying to break free of the water surface as they shed their skin exposing their wings. Flies that follow this pattern will attract hungry trout. If you collect insects around the pond you can match color, size, and behavior matching the best fly for the environment. Look or tie a fly on a 16-24 hook and and test it to see if it sits low in the water for best results this spring.
This pond is actively stocked by the the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. They have a stocking report you can access at: https://wildlife.utah.gov They also post fishing reports for Farmington Pond and other utah fishing areas. It will keep you informed on what to expect on your outdoor adventures.
