This is the bookstore of all bookstores! The more I kept walking through the bookstore the more store there was to see. So much to look at so much to read, everything you need is probably in this place. The kids section is great it has a room where they can sit and even a little cafe. The kids were able to quietly sit in there while we browsed through the book store. This place is a must visit. It changes the definition of a book store. Barnes and nobles could never be this unique.

This store was fantastic. A really great store you could spend forever wandering through. Old and New books of all categories. Includes places to sit and a coffee shop.

Powell’s of Harrisburg. I don’t mind that many of the big box bookstores are closing down, but I’m ecstatic when I see places like this surviving. Places like this inspire hearts to think beyond the screen. To relax and converse. I just loved smelling that book smell as I walked through the isles. The coffee was good enough, but I typically don’t rate a bookstore on the quality of its cafe.

They have a book-buyback program, detailed here: https://www.midtownscholar.com/book-buyback
I did see multiple volumes of old medical publications, I did not see any official text books, but I was only there briefly
Dear Kay: We are closed on Thanksgiving Day, and will reopen on Friday -Sunday 10 am - 6 pm.
No.
I don't really know but best guess is if they are in great or mint condition they will probably buy them. Talk to the guy running the coffee shop and ask he's a cool dude
Just call them, they may not check this very often.
Not really
All merchandise is specifically designed for The Midtown Scholar. There are t-shirts, mugs, etc. but they all show the name of the store. The only Harrisburg specific merchandise is a section of books on Harrisburg.
They have a wide range of books, old and new. Therefore, their prices vary. Their new publications are typically listed $5 lower than the average listing price. However, their used/older publications can range anywhere from $1 to $20. But again, this is a range of their wide selection. They have 3 levels, all sprawling with multitudes of books in literally anything you could think of.
Yes. We have our Book Buy Back every Thursday from 2pm-6pm.
