I have been shopping at Spirit with my family for years now. This year, Spirit hired the rudest old man that absolutely ruined the Halloween costume-shopping experience: Paul. I had three negative encounters with Paul before deciding I would write my review. There was a fourth negative encounter with my Mom that I was not present for, and I will encourage her to share that experience on her own. Day 1: Paul came up to me and my mother while we were shopping to accuse of us leaving a mess in an adjoining isle. The isle in question was not one we were shopping in. Whatever, dude's a weirdo. At checkout, he made a passive-aggressive remark about the shoppers, then refused to allow me and my mother to make two separate purchases with coupons. Despite being two different customers, different payment methods, and different coupons. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, we all have bad days. Paid and moved on. Day 2: On arrival, Paul immediately put aside what he was doing to follow us around the store. I assumed he still thinks we are the people who left two of the costumes out of their packages. What ever, free personal shopper. Except he told my Mom that she could not TRY ON a Tiara or a crown. I told him that doesn't make sense, there's not even any packaging that would be in the way. He seemed to relent and allowed her to wear her crown. At checkout, there were many more customers than at Day 1 - and I am assuming this is the reason he allowed me to pay separately from my mother this time and actually use a coupon. Okay - well, inconsistent application of your policy, but no big deal. Again, at this point, I would not write a review. Day 3: --- I missed this encounter, so I can only say he was rude according to my Mom, who I tend to believe. My Mom made 1 return on a walking-stick she didn't want. Day 4: I stopped by to return 2 items. You see, I purchased 2 different hats to test with my outfit, and Spirit said you could return them by the 18th. I only waited 2 days to return the hats that I did not want to keep. So, how does he greet me? No hi [there never been a pleasantry with this man] "It looks like all you guys want to do is return stuff here." Really dude? REALLY? No. There's a million things I'd rather do than spend a second longer in your presence. You follow us around and try to tell us not to wear crowns and hats in a costume store, then act like this when we return an item? Okay. We host a huge halloween party every year. It's usually a really fun time, but this year, we don't even want to go finish our costumes with Spirit. We usually add 1-2 Animatronics a year, we have like 9 this year, and now there's NO WAY we buy them from Spirit. Going to finish our costumes online, at hobby lobby, michaels, costume palace, wherever. Will get our animatronics from Home Depot. And when my guests ask me where to buy a costume, I will tell them to avoid this place, because this year, they hired Paul.

I have been to several of them and I saw them in every store I visited, but they are selling out of certain things fast, especially masks.
