A fun hike. Deceivingly easy for first mile, then downhill for a long way. Brook is about 2.5 miles in. Scenic and lots of rocks to climb. You can continue on for another mile down or so. I turned around at this point. Uphill on the way back, and a humility check! Had to stop a bunch. Bring plenty of water, and go early in the day, as part of the trail is shaded, & lots of it is in the sun. I recommend and will be returning. Went during the week and arrived @ 10am. 2 parking spots left, but only saw a few on the trail itself! Well maintained!

My favorite hike ever!!! Easy to access from Denver, has plenty of shade, never too busy, and our pup loves it!

We ended up doing the entire 5 mile loop. Great workout with beautiful resting spots. Completed in about 3 hours. I wouldn’t recommend this trail to any beginners. Not a far drive from Denver and not many people hiking at this location.

It's a little too populated, but being just about 30 minutes from central Denver, what can you expect? Parking is never too bad, but you'll find yourself driving up the road a bit if you get there after about 8am. I would recommend flipping a U and parking at the front of the line on the way down to the trailhead. The hike is wonderful, just absolutely wonderful. The whole loop is around 5 or 6 miles I believe. If you want a challenge, start Beaver Brook and loop back on Chavez. If you want to take it easier, reverse that. Chavez runs up or down the side of the canyon and there's about 1000ft elevation difference. Also, be aware that Chavez has some rocky, clambering cliff side terrain. Some amazing geology for sure. The creek spends some length cutting through bedrock and it's just so amazing. If you hike this trail loop, have a great time! Don't litter, and pack out your pup's poo!

Went today(10/21) and it was open. Took about 3.5 hours. Beaver brook to Chavez and randomly it became Braille trail.. beautiful hike though a little confusing at times because it's not well marked. Some easy parts, some sketch parts. Gorgeous hike though!!!
