It’s a hot one. Like seven inches from the midday sun. Great to have full hookup in a National Park, but you’re camping in a parking lot with no shade. In triple digit temps it’s near impossible to cool off. Each side has a band of trees where you put your chairs and hope for a breeze. On the plus side, there’s a well-equipped store with everything from bread to beer to Blue Bunny and Big Bend baubles. There’s laundry and WiFi plus flush toilets and $2 5 minute showers. There’s a market price gas station and water bottle refills at the nearby Visitor Center. Recommend if you need hook-up.

We were there last week. For some reason, rvs were lined up in a cluster on one side of the road. Each time a new rv arrived, it was crammed in close to another even though there were empty space across the way. Mind you, these sites are small to begin with. The tow vehicle from the adjacent site parked as close to your site as possible. Pretty cramped. The area was beautiful and green. I guess it gets more irrigation from the river.

Affordable rates, very friendly hosts and staff. There are more trees and grass here than most RV parks near Big Bend. The store is well supplied and they even have gas if you need it. Propane by appointment only.

Questions & Answers

How far from the Boquillas crossing?

Depends on what way you want to go! By car, it's about 3 miles to get to the crossing then about 1 mile from the port of entry to the town. Bring cash with you as that is all they take over there. Eat at both the restaurants as they are both great. Little Boquillas has fresh goat tacos that are awesome and Falcon's tamales are great. You don't need a guild over there. You can bring your dog just bring proof of vaccinations there is a nice B&B run by the Falcons rooms are nice and get breakfast the next morning!
