This was a beautiful park. Was not expecting a park like this in Lufkin. They have a water park, a kids park, a Pavillion, tennis court, basketball court, and a HUGE track to walk around the whole park.

Well , we went to the pavilion on the back side and I felt unsafe there. There were 3 men there .They seem to be homeless. It was us and other people there and they were asking for money . We left and so did the other people.

It was okay I was just there to paint in a peaceful area but I ended staying In the car the entire time only because there was so much traffic kumn thru i kouldnt koncentrate not the parks fault tho I've always loved it...

Please be sure to use caution when allowing teens around this area alone. I have witnessed drug deals and known users in the park as well as several homeless ppl who stay here. Though I've never had any problems with the homeless, some of them have violent pasts or are sex offenders.
Yes they do you have to reserve today but remember it's a city park no smoking no alcohol and no guns
