Deadwood Reservoir was on my motorcycle route, taking back roads from Horseshoe Bend through Placerville and up to Warm Lake. Cozy Cove is at the south end and is one of several campgrounds on the Reservoir. I did not camp here, but only stopped for a quick break. The water is very low in the Reservoir. It looked like a great campground. Bathroom very well maintained. Campsites very nice and clean. The Dam is just to the north a few miles.

Cozy campgroung is next to the dam which makes it nice to fish from if u have no boat. If u have a boat it is still nice everyone there is nice and the rangers are great people to be around. Dont like the fire ban that they put out to where u can only have a fire in a metal firepit which is in a paid spot. The roads is what scare us from coming alot and the drive up but it is soo worth it for a beachy campsite with a nice fire.

Very good campground. At the end of a long drive, so not too busy. Metal, Forest Service fire rings, so you can have campfires when the danger is at or below 1. Potable water is available via hand pump. No electricity. Parking is restricted only to campsites, including boat trailer. It is definitely biased towards tent camping. Can accommodate medium sized trailers, but you have to be willing to work at getting them level. If you are bringing a trailer, north route from Warm Lake is probably best. There is a decent little boat ramp here, wide enough for one trailer at a time. Seemed to be sufficient for the number of boats. Great scenery. Lots if froglets. Good, dark sky.

One of the best campgrounds I've ever stayed at! They have wood already cut and stacked near the fire pits at each campsite. Very clean, well worth the $12 per night fee.

Yes, this is a first come first serve, fee site. $12/night or $6/night with pass.
It is hard to find sirvice there but there's a spot or two like little bit up the hill or so
No.
Yes u probably could but it is a long bumby road with a lot of steep down hill and up hill
I was there last year and I would recommend going without an SUV. I was in a Suburban and it was tough going. I don't know if there is an alternative way up or not. A Subaru Outback would be fine because they have good clearance. I wouldn't recommend a car like an Accord or Camry. I had a couple close calls with scrapping in my suburban.
