I have had to contact Macon County Jail in some form or fashion whether on the phone or in person two different times. Granted, I get that I made the choice to be in a relationship with someone who has a record, but I digress. Anyways, I have been treated so rudely both times. Which is surprising to me because the Sheriffs and DPD I have dealt with have always been pleasant and nice, especially when trying to help me help my loved one or give me information. I get that the employees there deal with some crazy things and pressure, and they have to deal with some people who are just awful human beings who have done some awful unimaginable things; however, inmates are STILL people AS WELL are their friends and family members. Just because family and friends associate with a person deemed as a criminal, DOES NOT MEAN they themselves should be treated with disrespect or as if they are just another “delinquent”. Just because we care about and associate with someone who has committed crimes or commits crimes does not mean we are into doing the same things. We just want answers, we just want compassion. I get that people can really take advantage of compassion and kindness, believe me I know more than anyone, but sometimes you just have to put that cynicism aside and show that person compassion and kindness. Why are you in this field if it makes you feel so bitter and cold? I mean sure, you have to keep your wits about you when dealing with inmates, but your attitude and how you treat them can actually contribute to them feeding into the stereotypes of “Well, I’m just a common criminal, so why even bother trying to better myself? I’m going to be treated this way for the rest of my life.” The justice system is supposed to rehabilitate, but I fail to see how it rehabilitates, especially when people who have direct contact with the people inside those walls treat them like they’re worse than dirt. Don’t be in this field if you have a power complex or couldn’t care less about the population you are dealing with or their concerned family members or friends. You cause more harm than you realize, because you leave a lasting impression. So it is your choice to leave a good one or a bad one. Granted, I have no idea what it is like to work in a jail or a prison, but I have worked with some of the same populations in a different (yet almost similar) setting and facility, and let me tell you, compassion goes a LONG way. Building rapport actually builds respect at the same time, and it builds it much faster than “I’m the authority, you’re the subordinate”. I get that people have bad days, and your feelings are valid, but you cannot take your bad day out on others. You have control over your actions and reactions, you don’t have to take things out on people who had nothing to do with why you’re having a bad day and then ruin their day by doing so. Okay, I think I’ve said all I have needed to say on the matter. The only reason I am giving two stars is because the lady I was (abruptly and rudely) transferred to to ask questions about how to put money on an inmate’s account was very helpful and nice, as was the male dispatcher I accidentally called using the call option on Google (that number needs to be changed by the way.). Lastly, your website is super confusing. If I can purchase phone time over the internet, then state that. I used the JailAtm thinking they could buy their own phone card, but apparently it’s all through Securus. Please make it less confusing, as I am sure I am not the only one, I am just concerned about my loved one and wanting to make sure they are taken care of and can contact the people they need to contact. Thank you and have a great day!

If you will open the website and look at the far right column, you will see a link to inmate information. Click on it and you will see a place to enter a name. Put the name of the person there and you can see if he's there, a court date and bond info.
We no longer take remote bail, you must come in.
Yes she is in custody
U can order books from say Amazon but has to be paper or soft back books. And it has to be sent directly to the jail. But Bible's can be brought in by you and also has to be softback...
They can eaither send itnon jailatm.com which is on the macon county sheriff's website or they can donit at the jail its self at the kiosk
I believe the address is 333 East Franklin Street
You can go to the Macon County Sheriff website and they have an "Inmate Locator" search you can use to see.
Call them
Go to the police station and make out a report do not go back home under any circumstances until the police can get him out of there
You might want to try the law library I believe it's located on the third floor
At this point, it's a civil matter, not criminal. Police can't do anything about it.
