Have been taking our dogs to Brewer Animal Hospital for years and now our kids take their dogs to Brewer Animal Hospital as well. We have loved all the vets and staff there and will continue to take our dogs there always!

Dr Kirk has been my Vet for 30 years. He’s an exceptional Vet, always takes the best care of my cats with his knowledge and expertise. Melissa is the best receptionist, very kind and always helpful!

Don’t take your pet to Brewer clinic with any serious issues. We made the mistake of thinking Dr. KIRK was a qualified Vet, but we lost our sweet cat because of negligence/incompetence directly at the hands of Dr. Kirk. He should probably stick to simple healthcare but leave serious issues to more qualified practices. We found this out too late and lost our cat after spending 4000 dollars at the U of I Urbana Clinic. They did all they could but after being in Dr. Kirk’s care for two weeks it was too late the qualified Doctors at the U of I to save our cat. Dr. Kirk was treating our cat for Pancreatitis for over a week as his health kept declining. After the U of I Urbana doctors had a look, they said simple blood work showed it was his liver with the issue and he had a “perfectly healthy” pancreas. The U of I Urbana college is one the best in the world. They sighed when they learned that Dr. Kirk was treating our cat bases on his own incompetence and bad information. Dr. Kirk probably has good intentions, however that doesn’t really matter when you make gross errors like this. Dr. Kirk had every opportunity to do the right thing and at least drop his accumulated charges so we could try to pay down 4000 dollars in debt we owed the U of I. Our cat was too damaged by improper care for the U of I to save him. Dr. Kirk could only muster up a sympathetic phone call and a 100 dollar coupon for further bad health care at his practice. We are having an attorney look over the case which easily shows incompetence. Please research your vet Doctors very well and when in doubt drive the the U of I Urbana vet hospital where you are assured of expertise.
