My gentleman friend and I were in your store within the last hour. He was looking for bottom brackets and crank arm. A young man asked if help was needed. As he was unsure he went to get another employee. As the second employee was walking towards my fiend, he turned to the first young man and said “who, the guy with the goofy hat”. That comment was overheard and needless to say we left without making a purchase and will not be back to your location. Very poor customer service.

The staff was friendly and informative. Here's where the problem is for me. They charge labor by the hour plus parts (like a car dealership). They will try to up sale you in an effort to get more of your money (like a car dealership). The latter are well-known business practices. However, if you want to be viewed as a vehicle service center, which I believe they do. Then go the extra steps to satisfy your customers. I brought in two bicycles for repair. The bikes were kept in the garage and accumulated some dust and dirt. It would have been greatly appreciated if, at a minimum, they would have run some water over the backs. To spend almost $140.00 on bicycle repair and get dusty bikes back is lacking in customer care and details. When you go to a car dealer service center, they always return your car washed. Rsponse to Management: A business's culture is a direct reflection of management or leadership. The response given to my review says it all. First, the management gave a disingenuous apology at the beginging of their response. Let me take a moment to explain. The analogy of comparing their business model to a car dealership was spot on. Cyclery & Fitness sells new bicycles and offers a service/repair center just as most call dealerships. The management followed up by saying, “Dobbs does not wash your car after installing new tires on your car.” Dobbs does not sell any new or used vehicles and then encourages customers to return for service or repair. The more appropriate response would have been, “At this time we do not offer to clean any bicycles brought in for repair.” Instead, management decided to be passive-aggressive towards a customer who shared an observation. I will state it again, it would have been great if the bicycles could have been returned clean. To spray them down with water would be a minor undertaking, using no more than three minutes. It took “Management” longer to type their response than it would have taken to spray water on both bicycles The reality is I could have ordered the parts from Amazon and performed the repairs myself; however, I am a strong proponent of helping the local business community. I’m happy the business has been successful for 40 years. However, it never hurts to evaluate your business strategy over time.
