Beautiful time of year. This is a fun place to take some good pictures.

I give it a 5 star for a few reasons. It's free. It's local. It would be beautiful if you go when they are in bloom. There's plenty of areas to see the poppies. There's camping near by so you could wake up with them right near you if you planned it correctly. Although we went way past when the poppies were flowering, we were in the area so we checked it out anyway. We used our imagination for this trip. Maybe sometime in the future we'll plan accordingly but we surely couldn't rate it low because of our bad timing. Here's pics of the fields we visited.

Quite pretty. Not a huge patch this time but very nice and vibrant in the sun. A few handfuls of families and great photo ops. Please leave your dogs out of the patch as the poppies are fragile and dogs trample them and leashes rip the flowers from the stalks.

Elisa surprised me tonight with an early birthday date to explore the poppies of Mantua. We were surrounded by a sea of families, high school seniors, and at least one bride being photographed amongst the beauty. We were impressed with how cordial everybody was, including the frazzled campground host stuck with calling tow trucks when people parked illegally. Grateful to meet Todd and Jessica, originally from El Paso, who were visiting the poppies for the first time since making Utah their home two years ago. Ironically, after living in Cache Valley since 1991, Elisa and I only discovered the poppies about 5 years ago. Beautiful night with my love! Thanks sweetheart! ❤

If you want to see the poppies, I'd go between April and June. It really just depends on how fast it gets warm since poppies thrive in cooler weather. It took them a while to come out last year, though.
Check out @kimberlycrookphoto on Instagram!! She is great and local to the area!
