Dr. Zaino provided excellent medical care. He relieved any anxiety by explaining my procedure in terms I could understand and by setting expectations of my recovery. I never felt rushed during my visits, and he answered all questions. His staff provided great service as well. I highly recommend Dr. Zaino and Orthopedic Institute of New Jersey.

Dr. Zaino’s office is efficient and friendly. I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait more than 5 min or so. Dr. Zaino gave me multiple options for my ganglion cyst and provided outcome percentages. He was pragmatic, kind, and thoughtful. When I did end up getting it removed, he ended up doing it in a way that would leave open an option for another procedure I might need later on ( incision placement) to minimize scars. The surgery center in Sparta was incredibly friendly and informative. My scar is minimal and I’m almost back to a normal functioning wrist ( better than before) in 7 weeks!

I feel lucky to have had Dr.Zaino as my surgeon. He was so easy to talk with and although I'm still recovering I can tell everything is really good. I sculpt and really needed my wrist&hand to perform.... I'm nearly there

Questions & Answers

Does Dr. Zaino do surgery for trigger fingers?

Maryann Diangelo | Oct 16, 2019
Christian J. Zaino, MD | Oct 16, 2019

Yes, I do. It takes about 20 minutes. I do the operation with local anesthesia (like going to the dentist, yikes!). So you are awake and we make sure the finger is fully released. You will have 3-5 sutures which need to be removed at about 10-14 days later. I get you moving right away. You may be able to go back to light office work that day or the following day. It is not topical to need therapy but I can send you if you are a little stiff from the swelling post operatively. This is almost always successful.

Hi Ahdi, depending on what your x-rays show (which we get in the office), we may be able to excise or shave the exostosis or you may benefit from other treatments.
