It is a very nice museum. The lady working was very pleasant and answered all of our questions.

Don’t waste your money on the boat tour. I was very excited to treat my family to a tour of the lake on this historical boat, but the tour was canceled twice due to weather. I wasn’t contacted either time about the cancelation. The second time they claimed it was due to 10+ mile per hour winds, but it was only 3. Multiple guests showed up annoyed and confused because they weren’t contacted either. When I talked to the museum, they stated they couldn’t give any refunds and I would have to reschedule next May. This feels quite ridiculous after you’ve canceled twice and I’ve spent $70+ on tickets.

Is the little boat ride from the landing there at the "Old Amusement Park" open yet? How much does it cost? What is the best restaurant in the area?

No, I'm sorry. There will NOT be boat rides from the State Park this year. We hope to have our new 88' Sternwheeler in the water by this fall, pending the availability of a location to dock the vessel. However, next summer we plan on the vessel to be available to take visitors on lake tours, dinner cruises and more! Please check our website for updates. Thank you for inquiring.

Do you have a way to look at ancestors on line?

Jeanne Kellstadt | Oct 16, 2019

No Jeanne, they/we don't (i'm a docent there). We do have an extensive archive of old pictures, newspaper articles, obituaries, pictures and books and would happily let you sit and peruse through them. However, we do not have the funding to build an online data base of that size. If there is a particular family you are interested in you can call or stop by and we can help you find something maybe.

Do you still give your on the boat
