Had my pool installed two years ago, the skimmer gasket was not installed properly. I have use a snap in cover so I have never removed the screws to install a winterizing plate. I went to the store and was asked if I need help told the guy the story and he said right away I didn't winterize it properly. I bought the part and removed the old skimmer and notice the gasket was installed right. Went back to the store and showed them it was installed wrong, and was told it's only warranty for two weeks? DON"T BUY FROM THIS STORE!!!!! THAN THEY POST THIS PHONY REPSONES BELOW, AND SENT ME AN EMAIL SAYING I WINTERIZED IT WRONG, LOL WHAT A JOKE THIS COMPANY IS

Beware of these Scam artists!!! Purchased a pool robot, out of box it did not work. Returned it the very next day, where I was told because I opened the box it could’nt be returned. The manager, or I should say the man pretending to be the manager before I spoke to the actual manager both said I couldn’t return it and “you’re not getting your money back no Matter what”… I called their customer service. Even the woman that worked there instructed me to file a claim with my credit card. I did…. Despite what Island Rec is trying to lie about our credit card did infact side with us as this company operating a scam. They tried to reverse it. THEY were denied. We were awarded back our money. If anyone would like proof of this I would gladly supply the documentation. Horribly disgusting people to deal with. Untrustworthy. Extremely rude and disrespectful.

IF YOU EVER WANT TO RETURN AN ITEM, DO NOT BUY A PRODUCT FROM HERE Bought a robot for around $540 to clean our above ground pool. Out of the box, the robot did not work. My wife brought the robot back to this Island Rec and the staff, in an unfriendly manner, told my wife that since we opened the box we couldn’t return the product and that we would have to use their “warranty” service first. We were told that if the product doesn’t work after the warranty servicing, we were out of luck. The store wouldn’t even take the robot back for store credit (I would have begrudgingly used the credit to hit chlorine). After disputing the charge with our bank, Island Rec reversed the chargeback PLUS ADDITIONAL FEES. I’m now out $540 + the extra fees, have a non-functioning robot. a huge headache and one big question: why do I have to go through the process of getting a product fixed/repaired when it was not functioning out of the box? What a joke. I went out and purchased a FUNCTIONING robot NOT from Island Rec and it works great. If I could give Island Rec ZERO out of five stars for poor customer service, a ridiculous return policy and unnecessary hassle, I would! *** in response to Island Rec’s comment below: I didn’t “use” your product, I put it in the water and it IMMEDIATELY DID NOT WORK. My attempts to return this didn’t happen at the “end of season” it happened in June, a few days after my purchase and immediate attempted use of your product. I was sold a product that did not work and was not given my money back The island Rec policy of not being able to return a product after its in water, in my opinion, is silly because there is NO WAY I would know my product wouldn’t work unless I put it in the water The warranty policy should be in place if my product BECAME faulty after previous successful usage. I didn’t try to return chlorine after using it or a pool toy at the end of summer, I tried to EXCHANGE for a functioning product at the store and was told I NEEDED to bring the product to some warranty center. Sure, further inconvenience your customer. At that point, I was exhausted, bought a comparable product from a non-island rec store and wanted my money back. Keep inconveniencing your customers, great business model!!!

They contract out the installations. Better off doing it yourself. A pump and hoses are very easy to install

They should still have it on record try the hicksville/massapequa store where there parts dept. is . If you have any origion bill of sale or parts guides left over it helps speed up the search for the correct model #s and parts

I have a black diamond filter. When i vacuum my pool, i get blow back of debris through the return. Is there a check value in the canister or could it be my filter cartridge?

Well... As far as i know you can try a few things... Backwash and clean out the pre filter. It may not be a "backwash necessary unit" but you can try... Or open it up and hose out the filter if filthy, and clean any element. Or just get a new filter if it was a long hard summer so far and it just needs a new one.
