I saw a doctor, Dr. Rodin, and his P.A., who I will not name. Dr. Rodin is sympathetic, knowledgeable, and listens to his patients. My only issue with this doctor was the length of time that was needed to refer me to a specialist when his recommended course of treatment (orthodics and physical therapy) was not working and only exacerbated my ankle injury. His P.A., who I saw during every other visit to this facility, was argumentative and judgmental from the start. She told me multiple times that there was “nothing wrong with it,” and pushed me to increase hours on my feet when no progress to my injury nor improvement to my pain level had been made. She also body-shamed me on almost every visit (yes, I am heavier, but I also have been able to maintain an active lifestyle both in my personal life and professionally working with children), and my experience with her was terrible. Over a year and two referrals later, I am looking at surgery for multiple issues that were overlooked/not explored.

Bad Experience To sum things up, I had an MRI done on my right knee in 2018 and was referred here. Doctor referred me to juvenile arthritis specialist in Hartford and said that there was nothing physically wrong with my knee. My symptoms didnt get better so I insisted on another MRI after 4 years and chose to see another Ortho practice. He was able to show me the broken cartilage on both MRI's in minutes. Thanks for wasting my families time, money, and, patience.

Waterbury Orthopaedic Associates has been my family's "go to" practice. We have been very happy with their office staff and physicians. They are very accommodating with tough to fit work schedules, they are very thorough in their examinations and they are not "cut happy" physicians. If the problem can be corrected without surgery, such as recommending physical therapy, they will approach those options. We have had our children here for sports injuries and the physicians have always done what was best for them and were committed to getting them to return to their sport as quickly and safely as possible. I have had knee surgeries by Dr. Olson and elbow issues treated by Dr. Mariani and have been extremely happy with the outcomes of both. We have also seen Dr. Rodin for our son's broken hand, also very happy with his care and ability to get our son back on the lacrosse field. They are tops in our book!

Questions & Answers

My girlfriend is over weight but would benefit, or more than likely won't have a choice of getting a knee replacement. Would you take her on?

I am a patient of Dr. Mariani who I would highly recommend for your friend to make an appointment to see. She is a great surgeon. But most of all she is a wonderful person.

Does this office take a work injury patient? How good is this office?
